Leaflets Galore

Well have you had all your voting leaflets.  One particular one was quite enthralling, a university student who says he has plenty of time to do the job.  Rather surprising since his parents have sent him to that place of learning to work hard with the only bit of work involved outside uni of bar work in the evenings or similar and not what is practically a full time job.  A discrepancy or two in the leaflet as well, which obviously his agent has not given him advice on, and ought to know better when you see who his agent is.

50 Station Road, still pending on the Planning site, although the Highways Agency has given a very big fat decision that the application should be refused because of the access point, probably because it has the potential for disaster being  within the vicinity of bend, so we have hope yet.  Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust are also not keen on the idea of the barn structures being knocked down because of bats and I do know that there are bats in this area so that's a nice plus.  So, you never know, the Planning Department might do the right thing for a change and say no.

Movement Or Not?

There seems to be a bit of movement on the Newels site, movement of rubbish or rather spread out a bit.  Does this mean we might see building work in progress soon.  I know none of us really wanted all the extra houses, especially because of weakened infrastructure, but it is an eyesore we could really do without.  I suppose it will be a case of wait and see.

Still no decision on the 50 Station Street, application for 4 dwellings, plenty of objections and the application is still pending consideration so we should  get a reject, with luck.  What will probably happen is that they will reject 4 houses and pass 3 and think they are doing us a favour, as happened on the Marsh Lane site, built, but still for sale, which tells you a lot.

Then there is the other proposal:

Looks like this has the green light to go ahead from the District Council Planning Department.  Getting our permission is another matter.  The full letter is on the web site.

Diddled On One Election

Well the lists are up although no election for the parish council as 13 people for 13 vacancies, which is a shame but there you  go.

We do however get to vote on the District Council Election, with three entrants, a new Conservative  trying to get his feet under the table, yet another resident of Beckingham trying to parachute in.  Interesting selection of proposers and assentors for him.. Does this mean more bitching and biting? I do hope not, doesn't go down very well with residents.

Are You Going To Be On The Starting Blocks?

Well if you are thinking of throwing your hat in the ring and have a go, you have until 4pm on the 9th April 2015 to get your application into Bassetlaw.  You should be able to get an application pack from the Misterton Centre.  I'm talking about the parish council elections of course.

We currently have two new younger members (well younger than me) on the parish council, it would be nice to see a few more taking an interest in local affairs.  Also plenty of entries might eliminate one current occupant who does not live in Misterton, something that really niggles me, minding our business and not their own.  The whisper is that he is standing for Beckingham (where he belongs) although I can't see him kicking Joan Sanger out (District Council not parish council).

Well not long now, I just hope we don't get the bitching of last time because nobody likes that in the village.

I see we are getting the lights back on during the night following several petitions.   Better still we appear to be getting a bus service to Doncaster (Gainsborough-Misterton-Doncaster).  Pity we couldn't get a train service, that would be worth petitioning for.
